About the game

How Queens works,
in short.

  1. Step 01

    Coloured zones on a checkerboard.

Every game ships a 5×5 (or bigger) grid carved into one coloured zone per row count. You'll place exactly one queen in each.

  2. Step 02

Tap to cycle: blank → ✕ → queen.

Tap a cell to mark a guess with ✕, tap again for a queen, again to clear. Placing a queen auto-Xs the rest of its row.

  3. Step 03

One per row, column, zone — no diagonals.

Every row, every column, and every coloured zone must hold exactly one queen — and no two queens may sit diagonally adjacent.
