How Waffle works,
in short.

One grid, six words.
The waffle is a 5×5 lattice with four gaps. Three words read across the top, middle and bottom rows; three more read down the left, middle and right columns, crossing at nine shared letters. Every letter you need is already on the board — none are added or removed, they are just in the wrong places.

Tap one tile, then another — they swap.
Tap a tile to pick it up, then tap a second to swap the two letters. A tile turns green once it sits where it belongs, and yellow when its letter belongs in that word but in a different spot. Grey means the letter is not wanted there — and because repeats are counted, a letter can show grey even when the word needs it elsewhere, if its copies are already accounted for.

Solve with swaps to spare.
Each swap costs one from your stock. Greens are locked and cannot move, so every swap should count. Turn all 21 tiles green to win, and the swaps you did not spend become stars — one per unused swap, up to five for a flawless solve.
