About the game

How Minesweeper works,
in short.

  1. Step 01

    Reveal a safe cell.

    Click any cell to flip it. The first click is always safe — the rest are guesswork backed by clues.

    Numbers count mines.

    A revealed number is how many mines sit in the eight cells around it. Cross-reference to deduce.

    Flag the mines.

    On desktop, right-click a suspect cell; on mobile, switch the toggle above the board to Flag and tap. Flags are just personal markers — reveal every safe cell and the board is yours.
