Releases

5.5.1

Fixes

  • The about page no longer says the site is already paid for by ads — ads aren't live yet, so for now the site is paid for out of pocket

5.5.0

Find your next favourite

Highlights

  • A new Find your next favourite section on the home page, just under the welcome: see what's trending this week, the all-time most played games, the newest arrivals, and — once you've played a few — games you haven't tried yet that are like the ones you play.
  • The games under Today's puzzle now show what's trending this week when you come back, instead of the same three picks every time.
  • Sort the games by Popular, on the home page and in the all games list, to see the most played ones first in every category.
  • To know what's popular, opening a game now adds one to that game's count. Only the game's name is sent — no cookie, no ID, nothing that links your visits together. The privacy page explains it.

5.4.0

Tidier game pages

Highlights

  • Game boards start higher on phones: less space between the title, the controls and the board, and a thin line now marks where the game ends and the rules and questions begin.
  • Request a game has room to breathe: one-tap popular ideas to fill in the name, a short note on how requests get picked, and the newest games to play while you wait.
  • Contact lays out each reason to get in touch as its own card, and its button starts the email with the right subject (and, for bug reports, the questions worth answering).
  • The all games list shows a small picture of each game next to its name, so it's quicker to spot the one you're after.

Fixes

  • Ad spaces no longer sit empty. When there's no ad to show, the space suggests a few games you might like instead, and it stays the same size either way, so the game never jumps up or down while the page loads.

5.3.0

2048 Shooter

Highlights

  • Adds 2048 Shooter, a number-match puzzle: tap one of five columns to shoot a numbered block up into it, and when it lands touching the same number they merge into double. Three matching blocks make four times the number, and merges can chain through the columns. Swap trades the block in the launcher for the next one, and the run lasts until no column can take either

5.2.1

Fixes

  • Fixes Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe cells drifting out of line once a small board had marks in it, so a tap sometimes landed on the square above or below the one you aimed for

5.2.0

Pause when you need to

Highlights

  • Floppy Bird and Marble Shooter can now be paused: press P or Esc, or use the new Pause button. Both also pause on their own when you switch tabs
  • Esc now pauses Snake, Brick Breaker and Paddle Ball, and P works too, matching the other arcade games
