About the game

How Star Battle works,
in short.

  1. Step 01

Two stars in every line and colour.

Place exactly two stars in each row, each column, and each coloured region. The colours are extra cages laid over the grid — every one needs its own pair of stars, on top of the row and column counts.

  2. Step 02

Tap a cell to cycle: empty → mark → star.

Each tap moves a cell through empty, a small × you place to remember “no star here,” then a star — and back to empty. The × is just your own rule-out note; only the stars count toward the puzzle.

  3. Step 03

    No two stars may touch.

Stars can never sit next to each other — not side by side, and not even diagonally at a corner. You win when every row, column and region holds its two stars with none of them touching.
